Permanent makeup (PMU) is also known as "Permanent Cosmetics, Cosmetic Tattooing and Micro pigmentation".

PMU is the process of implanting small particles of pigment slightly below the skin (into the upper dermal layer) using individual disposable needs to achieve the illusion of make or skin tones. The procedure uses a very fine needle that makes hundreds of tiny perforations per minute. It produces articulate designs that resemble makeup which is commonly done on lips, eyelids, and eyebrows.
